Start pointsFor consistency in our programmes, please use start points list for your walk start points. Be aware that these are start points that have been used by East Dorset Group leaders but we cannot guarantee their quality. Many of them have had their grid references and post codes carefully checked recently by our Programme Co-ordinator. Further notes about them can be found here. BACK TO TOPSend in a walkPlease ask the Programme Co-ordinator or Leaders’ Co-ordinator whose email addresses are given in your programme for information on how to send in a walk. BACK TO TOPVillage Hall car parksAn alternative to leaving a lot of vehicles parked along the narrow roads of a village is to contact the manager of the village hall and ask if we can use their car park on a certain day in return for a small donation. Add the requirement for a donation to the Comments line on your walk submission. | ||||||||||||

Walk cancellationsOnce in the programme, walks should not normally be cancelled. If you are unable to lead a walk you have added to the walks programme, you should notify the Leaders’ Co-ordinator as soon as possible who will endeavour to find a relief leader who can lead the walk for you. If this is impossible, the walk will be noted as cancelled on GWEM, the Group Walks and Events Manager. Rain by itself is not usually sufficient reason to cancel a walk but the leader can cancel the walk at his or her discretion if there might be safety issues for instance. During the Covid 19 situation all walks may be cancelled by The Ramblers or there may beother reasons than those above as to why a leader cannot attend or the numbers of walkers may be restricted. Members are now being advised to check that a walk is going ahead before setting out to join it by looking on GWEM, the Group Walks and Events Manager, or telephoning the walk leader. BACK TO TOPContact the policeIf your problem does not merit a 999 call, police can be contacted using 101 instead. BACK TO TOP |
